Copy, paste, duplicate

Split an exact copy off any selection and place it right where you want it.

Steps

Select the shapes you want to copy.
Tap Duplicate in the selection menu to turn on copy mode.
Drag the selection — the original stays in place and a copy moves with your finger.
Tap Duplicate again to turn copy mode off and go back to moving the original.
Tap Cut (the scissors icon) instead to turn on cut mode — dragging then lifts the selection out and moves it, rather than leaving the original behind. Cut and Duplicate are mutually exclusive: turning one on turns the other off.
