AR, sharing & files

See it in your room.

Place your design on a real table or wall with View in AR, present it full screen, and hand it to your other tools in the format they need.

View in AR works on iPhone and iPad.

View in AR

Real size, real room.

Tables and walls

On a table, or on a wall.

View in AR finds the horizontal and vertical surfaces around you and places your design on them, so you see it at real size, in the room it’s meant for, before anything is made.

  • On iPhone and iPad
  • With a plan, export USDZ, Apple’s AR file format, materials included

Present & share

Show it, straight from the model.

Present from the model itself: full screen, as slides, or with notes sketched on top.

  • Full Screen

Present a design full screen, straight from the share menu.

  • Slides

Capture views as slides and present them, in Manual or Auto mode.

  • Markup Mode

Sketch notes over a slide while the view stays still.

  • Images

Save the view to Photos, or export a Hi-Res Image with a plan.

Files

Every format, in and out.

The 3D editor opens CAD, mesh and AR files for free and, with a plan, exports them too. Spaces take models, images and video.

Questions

Questions about AR and files.

Still curious? Write to hello@umake.com

  1. Can I view my design in AR on a Mac?

No. View in AR is available on iPhone and iPad, where uMake places your design on a real table or wall around you.

  2. Can I 3D print my designs?

Yes. With a plan, export your model as STL or OBJ (uMake labels both for 3D printing) and open it in your slicer; uMake doesn’t send jobs to a printer itself. To see it in your room first, use View in AR on iPhone or iPad.

  3. Which file formats can I import and export?

uMake imports STEP, IGES, OBJ, STL, USDZ, GLB, DAE, SVG and SketchUp (SKP) files for free. With a plan, the 3D editor exports STEP, IGES, OBJ, STL, USDZ and uMake’s own UMK, plus high-resolution PNG images. Spaces export PNG or UMKS, and Scene Studio saves MP4 video. Compare plans.

  4. Do my designs sync between iPad, iPhone and Mac?

Yes, with a free uMake account. Designs are saved on your device, so you can work offline, and they back up and sync when you’re online. You can be signed in on one device at a time: signing in on another signs you out of the first.
