# uMake

> uMake is a design app for iPad, iPhone (including iPhone Duo) and Mac with Apple silicon that makes turning ideas into designs faster and easier, from the first concept on: sketch an idea, build it in precise 3D, and use AI to render it, try new materials and set it in a scene, all on one board. It is made for interior designers, architects, product designers and fashion designers, students use it through uMake for Education, and it is free to download. Sketch with Apple Pencil or your fingers, build precise NURBS curves, surfaces and solids in real units, gather sketches, photos and live 3D designs on an infinite board called a Space, and work with AI: AI Design Partner builds editable 3D from words or a reference image (including floor plans from a plan image), Live AI Preview renders the model photorealistically as you work, AI tools in Spaces compose, vary, restyle and edit images, and Scene Studio turns each change to a scene into a short video clip.

**Touch**

1. Tap the orbit button in the bottom-left toolbar to enter Orbit mode, then drag anywhere on the canvas with one finger to orbit around your design.
2. While a drawing tool is active, hold the orbit button with one hand and drag on the canvas with the other hand to orbit without leaving the tool.
3. Quick-tap the orbit button to lock Orbit mode on, and tap it again to unlock.

**Apple Pencil**

1. In Apple Pencil mode, drag with a finger to orbit while your Pencil keeps drawing.
2. Two-finger gestures still pan and zoom the camera as usual.

**Keyboard**

1. Hold Option (⌥) and drag with your mouse or trackpad to orbit the camera.
2. Press keypad 1, 3, or 7 to jump to the front, right, or top view.

**Touch**

1. Drag with two fingers anywhere on the canvas to pan the view.
2. Pinch two fingers apart to zoom in, or pinch them together to zoom out.
3. Twist two fingers to roll the camera.
4. These gestures work at any time — even while a drawing tool is active or Apple Pencil mode is on.

**Apple Pencil**

1. Two-finger pan, pinch zoom, and twist roll keep working while Apple Pencil mode is on — use your fingers for the camera and the Pencil to draw.
2. Drag with two fingers to pan, pinch to zoom, and twist to roll, exactly as without the Pencil.

**Keyboard**

1. Hold the Space bar (␣) and drag to pan the view.
2. Press ⌘ and + to zoom in, or ⌘ and − to zoom out at the pointer; keep the keys held to keep zooming.

### Camera views & presets

Snap the camera straight onto any side of your design from the view menu's presets. (https://www.umake.com/learn/camera-views)

**Touch**

1. Tap the view menu button at the bottom of the left toolbar — it shows a small live view cube, or the name of the current view.
2. Choose Top, Front, Left, Back, Bottom, or Right to snap the camera squarely onto that side of your design.
3. Choose Iso NE, Iso NW, Iso SE, or Iso SW for an angled three-quarter view.
4. A checkmark marks the preset you are currently viewing from.

**Keyboard**

1. On the numeric keypad, press 1 for the Front view, 3 for the Right view, and 7 for the Top view.

Chat with an AI partner that builds and edits 3D geometry directly on your canvas. (https://www.umake.com/learn/design-partner)

**Touch**

1. Tap the Design Partner button among the panel buttons on the right side of the editor's top toolbar to open the chat panel.
2. Describe what you want to build or change in the message field — for example a shape to create, or an edit to something already on the canvas — and send the message.
3. The Design Partner creates or edits geometry directly in your design; keep the conversation going to refine the result step by step.
4. Tap the Design Partner button again to close the panel — your chat stays with this design.

### Space AI tools

Choose a tool, use your selection, and build on the results. (https://www.umake.com/learn/spaces-ai-tools)

**Touch**

1. Open AI Tools using the sparkles button in your Space’s toolbar.
2. Select an image first to use the tools under Photo, such as Edit, Remove Background and Variations. The tools under Create start something new.
3. Use palette and texture tools for reusable sets. Compose a Scene and Save as Style, under Photo, work with the items you select.
4. Review results in chat. Use Add to Space when offered; Compose a Scene places its result beside the sources automatically.

### Flows

Connect a picture to AI cards, run them with one tap, and update every result when the picture changes. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-flows)

**Touch**

1. Flows tie your AI work to the picture it comes from. Put a photo, a video or a 3D design in a source frame, connect cards to it, and run them. Change the picture, then update everything in one tap.
2. A source frame is the dashed rectangle a flow starts from. In AI Tools, open Flows and add a Source, or select a photo or a 3D design and start from a template. Drop a photo, a video or a design into the frame, or draw in it. Whatever is inside is what the cards read.
3. A card is one AI step, such as Make ideas, Apply a style or Make a presentation. Add one with Add a card. To connect it, select the frame or another card and drag the dot on its edge to the new card, or double tap the dot to choose one. A card reads the frame, or the pictures another card made.
4. Every card shows its price on its button, and nothing is charged until you tap. Run makes the card’s first set of pictures. A run that could cost more than 100 credits asks once before it starts.
5. Change the source and its cards turn amber and read Out of date. Update redraws the same ideas on the changed picture, and you choose whether to keep the old set or replace it. Select the frame and choose Update cards to bring all of its cards up to date at once.
6. A card that reads another card’s set uses the pictures you check. Every picture starts checked. Under Pictures to use, tap a picture to check or uncheck it, or choose Check all. Apply a style, Edit the picture, Make a presentation and Upscale run once for each checked picture, so the price follows your checks. Make ideas reads one picture, so you choose which.
7. Live lets a card update by itself. Turn on Update by itself in the card’s settings, and it redraws its pictures in place each time you finish changing the source, without adding a set. Live spends credits without a tap, so it first asks you to set a limit for the Space (50 is suggested) and pauses when it reaches it. Tap Allow more to go on, or change the limit. Updates you start yourself never count toward it. Upscale never runs Live.
8. The Design Partner can build a flow for you. In a Space, ask for something like “Make three ideas of this chair and a presentation of the best.” It places the frame, the cards and the connections in one step and shows a Run button with the price. Nothing runs until you tap it, and one Undo removes the whole flow.

### Spaces basics

Arrange sketches, notes, photos, and 3D designs together on one infinite board. (https://www.umake.com/learn/spaces-basics)

**Touch**

1. Create a Space from the home screen: tap Start Blank and choose Space, or tap + while viewing your Spaces list.
2. Drag anywhere on the board with one finger to pan — the board extends in every direction as you go.
3. Pinch with two fingers to zoom the board in or out.
4. Tap an element to select it, drag it to move it, and pull its corner handles to resize it.

### Doodle on the Board

Sketch freely anywhere on the board — finger and Pencil both draw. (https://www.umake.com/learn/doodle-shapes)

**Touch**

1. Tap Doodle in the Space toolbar to enter doodle mode — the drawing tool picker appears.
2. Draw with your finger or Apple Pencil — in doodle mode both always draw.
3. Pick pens, markers, colors, the eraser, and the lasso from the tool picker.
4. Tap the blue checkmark to leave doodle mode — your drawing becomes a board element you can move and resize like any card.

### Layers

Stack your Space in layers — trace over a locked photo, keep furniture apart from notes, or hide the options you're comparing. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-layers)

**Touch**

1. Hide, lock or fade parts of your board. Touch and hold a layer for more.
2. Tap Layers in the toolbar to open the panel. On iPhone, choose Layers in the More menu (⋯).
3. Tap + to add a layer. Touch and hold + for New Group and, with items selected, New Layer from Selection.
4. Tap a layer to add new items to it. On iPad, the chip beside the zoom button shows that layer — touch and hold the chip to pick another.
5. Tap the eye to hide a layer, or the lock to keep it from changing. To fade a layer, touch and hold it and choose Opacity.
6. Show Only This Layer hides the rest; Show All Layers in the ⋯ menu brings them back.
7. Double-tap a layer to rename it. To reorder, touch and hold it, then drag it up or down.
8. Merge Down combines a layer with the one below it; Show Items lists what's on a layer.
9. Delete Layer… lets you delete its items too, or keep them on another layer. The Base layer always stays.
10. To trace over a photo or plan, select it and choose More › Use as Underlay. It moves to a faded, locked layer at the bottom.
11. Walls on different layers still form rooms together, and a wall welded to a locked layer keeps that corner fixed.
12. Select items and choose More › Move to Layer to put them on another layer — or New Layer from Selection to give them one of their own.
13. To group layers, touch and hold a layer and choose Add to New Group. Drag a layer onto a group to put it inside.
14. Tap a group to collapse or expand it. Its eye and lock hide or lock every layer inside. To fade them all, touch and hold the group and choose Opacity.
15. In a group's menu, New Layer in Group adds a layer to it, and Ungroup removes the group but keeps its layers.
16. Delete Group… lets you delete the group with its items, or keep its layers.
17. Groups can hold other groups, up to three levels deep.
18. Choose Organize with Design Partner… in the ⋯ menu, or ask it: “Put all the furniture on its own layer and lock it.” It won't change hidden or locked layers unless you let it.
19. To cut a photo into parts on their own layers, select it and choose More › Split into Layers… — see Split into Layers.

**Keyboard**

1. Press ⌘I to show or hide the Layers panel.
2. Press ⇧⌘N to add a layer, or ⌥⇧⌘N to add a group with a new layer inside.
3. Press ⇧⌘H to hide or show the layer you're adding to, and ⌥⌘L to lock or unlock it.
4. Double-click a layer to rename it, or right-click it for its menu.
5. To reorder, click and hold a layer, then drag it up or down.
6. ⌘G groups items selected on the board. To group layers, use Add to New Group in the panel.

### My Library

Everything you collect in one tab: what AI tools make, textures, shapes and styles, with search and sort. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-my-library)

**Touch**

1. What AI tools make for you, your textures, and your saved shapes and styles all live here. Tap an item to use it.
2. Open My Library from the bar, after Layers. On an iPhone, or in a narrow iPad window, choose More → My Library, or Add → My Library.
3. Media keeps every picture, video and 3D model your AI tools make, newest first, without you doing anything. To keep your own photo, video or 3D model, select it and choose More → Save to My Library.
4. Tap a Media item to add it to the board. Tap ••• or touch and hold it to add, download or delete it. Deleting removes it from My Library only; boards and designs that already use it keep it.
5. The pills under the search field switch between Media, Textures, Shapes and Styles. In Media, the pills below them show All, Images, Videos or 3D.
6. Search finds words from the prompt and the tool’s name in Media, and names in the other sections. The arrows button sorts by Recently Added or Recently Used, and by Name outside Media; each section remembers its order.
7. Textures, Shapes and Styles are the same lists as Saved in Materials, My Shapes in the Shapes panel and My Styles in Apply Style, so a rename or a delete in one shows in the other.
8. Tap a texture to fill the selected shape, wall or floor, a shape to place it, or a style to open Apply Style with it chosen. Nothing is spent until you send.
9. In the 3D editor, open Add → My Library for Media and Textures. A 3D model is imported into your design, a picture can be applied as a texture, and a texture goes straight onto the selected surface.
10. On the Home screen, My Library is in the sidebar on an iPad or a Mac; on an iPhone it’s the row under Recents, and See All opens it. Tap an item to add it to a new Space or a recent one, download it or delete it. Home shows Media only.

### Split into Layers

Cut the objects in a photo onto layers of their own, then move, hide or rearrange them. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-split-layers)

**Touch**

1. Tap a part to leave it out or bring it back, then tap Add — each part lands on a layer of its own.
2. Select a photo and choose More › Split into Layers…, or choose Split into Layers in AI Tools or in Image Tools. The photo on the board becomes the preview.
3. Objects finds each object — free, with a daily limit. Subject cuts out the main subject on this device, free and offline.
4. Tap an object on the photo, or the circle by its name in the list, to leave it out or bring it back. Tap a name to see which object it is.
5. Missing something? With Objects, tap Draw Around It, then drag a box around it in the photo to cut it out as another part.
6. Under Background, Keep leaves the photo under the parts, and Hide shows only the parts.
7. Fill repaints the photo without the objects. It costs credits, charged only once the new background is on your board.
8. With Hide or Fill, the untouched original is kept on a hidden, locked layer — show it to compare.
9. Tap Add. The parts land on their own layers, in a group named after the photo.
10. Items drawn over the photo move to an Above Photo layer, so they stay on top of the parts.
11. To bring the photo back, touch and hold its Original layer or the group and choose Restore Original.
12. You can also ask the Design Partner: “Cut out the lamp and the chair.”
13. Objects can also make hidden objects whole: an object partly hidden by another part you chose — a sofa behind a coffee table — shows Make Whole under its name. Tap it to have the object redrawn in full.
14. People, see-through or growing things such as glasses, bottles and plants, objects cut off by the photo's edge, and parts you drew aren't made whole.
15. When an object comes back whole, the parts in front of it fade for a moment so you can see all of it — touch and hold its name to see it again. Under its name, choose Whole or As cut.
16. With Keep or Fill, a whole object shows only behind the parts you chose, so the photo looks the same until you move them. With Hide, it shows whole.
17. Each object you add whole costs 7 credits, charged once, when you add. If you're short of credits, Make Whole shows how to get more.
18. If objects are still being made whole when you tap Add, it waits up to 45 seconds and adds the ones that arrive whole — tap Add Now to add them as they were cut instead.
19. In Layers, an object added whole is marked Made whole. To put it back exactly as it was cut from your photo, touch and hold its layer and choose Restore Exact Cut.

**Keyboard**

1. Select a photo, then choose Split into Layers… in the More menu or in AI Tools.
2. Click an object on the photo, or the circle by its name, to leave it out; with Objects, click Draw Around It and drag a box around something it missed to cut it out.
3. Press Return to Add, or Esc to cancel — even while a Fill is working.
4. With Objects, click Make Whole under an object partly hidden by another part you chose to have it redrawn in full. When it comes back, the parts in front fade for a moment so you see all of it; click its name to see it again, and choose Whole or As cut under it. Each object added whole costs 7 credits, charged when you add.
5. While Add waits for objects being made whole, click Add Now to add them as cut, or press Esc to cancel. Later, Restore Exact Cut in its layer's menu puts an object back as it was cut.

### 3D designs in a Space

Place your uMake designs on the board and orbit them live without leaving the Space. (https://www.umake.com/learn/embed-3d-designs)

**Touch**

1. Tap + in the Space toolbar, choose uMake Design, and pick one of your designs to place it on the board.
2. The design lands as a card showing a preview image; tap the card to select it and its live 3D view wakes up.
3. With the design selected, tap the orbit button in the contextual toolbar, then drag inside the card to orbit, pinch to zoom, and drag with two fingers to pan the model.
4. Only one embedded design is live at a time — unselected designs show a still preview until you tap them.
5. Choose Edit from the design's contextual menu to open it in the full 3D editor; your changes come back to the board.

### Notes, photos & media

Fill your Space with sticky notes, text, photos, camera shots, and videos. (https://www.umake.com/learn/notes-photos-media)

**Touch**

1. Tap Sticky Note in the Space toolbar to drop a sticky note, then type your note on it.
2. Tap Text in the Space toolbar to add a text block, and style it from its contextual toolbar.
3. Tap + and choose Photos to insert an image from your library, or Camera to take a picture straight onto the board.
4. Drag images or videos in from another app in Split View — they land where you drop them.
5. Drag any element to arrange it, and pull its corner handles to resize it.

### Insert from Files

Bring 3D model files from the Files app and content from other apps straight onto your board. (https://www.umake.com/learn/insert-from-files)

**Touch**

1. Tap + in the Space toolbar and choose Insert From… to open the Files browser.
2. Pick a 3D model file — USDZ and GLB formats are supported — and it appears on the board as a 3D element.
3. You can also drag images and videos onto the board from other apps; they drop right where you release them.
4. Inserted files are saved as part of the Space, so the board travels with its content.

### Live Preview in Spaces

See an AI-rendered version of your board update beside you while you sketch. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-live-preview)

**Touch**

1. Tap Live Preview in the Space toolbar to split the view — your board on one side and the AI-rendered preview beside it.
2. Keep sketching: doodle mode stays available, and the preview follows your strokes as you draw.
3. Tap the prompt field on the preview card and describe the look you want to steer the render.
4. Tap Enhance for a higher-quality render of the current view.
5. Use the preview's menu to save a render to Photos.

### The New Home

Start a project from the home screen — describe it or pick a project type, and land in the editor with a scene already set up. (https://www.umake.com/learn/home-configurator)

**Touch**

1. On the Home tab, describe what you want to make in the project brief field, or attach a photo for reference.
2. Tap one of the four project type chips — Room / Interior, Product Stage, Booth / Stage, or Site Study — to open a short guided setup.
3. Answer the setup's tap-only questions (or skip any of them) and watch your brief compose in the live preview; tap Use Defaults on the first question to accept defaults, or touch and hold a project type chip and choose Quick Start with Defaults to skip the setup entirely.
4. Finish the setup and uMake opens the editor with your starting scene, where the design assistant continues from your brief.
5. To skip the guided start, open the Start Blank menu and choose 3D Design or Space for an empty canvas.

### Keyboard Shortcuts

Work faster with a hardware keyboard — every canvas shortcut in one place. (https://www.umake.com/learn/keyboard-shortcuts)

**Touch**

1. Open Help and choose Keyboard Shortcuts to browse every canvas shortcut, grouped by Edit, Tools, Camera, View, Panels, Layers, and Spaces.

**Keyboard**

1. With a hardware keyboard connected, hold Command (⌘) on the canvas to show iPadOS's shortcut overlay.
2. Some shortcuts repeat while held — hold ⌘Z to keep undoing, ⇧⌘Z to keep redoing, ⌘+ or ⌘- to keep zooming, and hold the Space bar (␣) to pan.
3. Single-key shortcuts such as 1, 2, and 3 for the drawing tools stay out of your way while you are typing in a text field — they only act on the canvas.

### Organise Your Designs

Keep your library tidy with folders and favourites, and find any design fast. (https://www.umake.com/learn/organise-designs)

**Touch**

1. Open the Designs tab to see all your designs and folders in one grid.
2. Tap the folder button with the plus badge in the top toolbar to create a new folder.
3. Touch and hold a design card, then drag it onto a folder to move it inside — the folder highlights when it is ready to receive the drop.
4. Touch and hold a design card and choose Add to Favorites; a star badge appears on the card.
5. Jump across your whole library with the Recents, Favorites, and Offline locations — in the sidebar on iPad, or behind the filter button on iPhone — and use the search field or the sort button to find and order designs.

### Duplicate & Move Designs

Manage any design from its card menu — copy it, or file it into a folder. (https://www.umake.com/learn/rename-duplicate-move)

**Touch**

1. In the Designs tab, touch and hold a design card to open its menu.
2. Choose Duplicate to create an identical copy of the design.
3. Choose Move, pick a destination — a folder, or uMake Cloud for the top level — and confirm with Move.
4. You can also drag a card straight onto a folder to move it without opening the menu.

### Deleted Files & Recovery

Know what deleting a design does, and how to keep a safety copy before you let one go. (https://www.umake.com/learn/deleted-files-recovery)

**Touch**

1. To delete one design, touch and hold its card in the Designs tab and choose Delete.
2. To delete several at once, tap the Select button in the toolbar, tap the designs, then tap the trash button in the bottom bar.
3. Deleting a design removes it from your uMake library on every device signed in to your account, and it needs an internet connection — deletion is not available offline.
4. There is no in-app trash, so duplicate a design first if you are not sure you want to lose it.
5. If you deleted something by accident, contact uMake support from Settings as soon as possible to ask whether it can be recovered.

### Import 3D Files

Bring models from other tools into uMake — SketchUp, OBJ, STL, STEP, and more. (https://www.umake.com/learn/import-3d-files)

**Touch**

1. On the Home tab, open the Start Blank menu and choose Import File.
2. Pick a category — 3D Model (OBJ, STL, STEP, IGES, USDZ, GLB, DAE, ZIP), SketchUp (SKP), 2D Vector (SVG), or uMake File (UMK) — and the file browser opens showing only files uMake can read.
3. Select the file, and uMake imports it and opens it as a new design in your library.
4. SketchUp files are converted online, so importing SKP needs an internet connection.
5. Opening a supported file from the Files app or another app also imports it into uMake.

### Autosave & Offline

uMake saves your work automatically and keeps it in sync, even when the connection drops. (https://www.umake.com/learn/files-autosave-offline)

**Touch**

1. Your design saves automatically while you work — there is no Save button.
2. Changes upload to your uMake cloud library; a card shows a brief green check when it has just finished syncing.
3. An orange dot on a card means local changes are still waiting to upload; a cloud icon with a down arrow means the design is not downloaded on this device yet and will download when you open it.
4. If you go offline, keep working — your edits are stored on the device and sync automatically when the connection returns.
5. The Offline location lists the designs already available on this device, so you know what you can open without a connection.

### Subscription & credits

Know how your plan's monthly AI credits work and check how much you have left. (https://www.umake.com/learn/subscription-credits)

**Touch**

1. AI features in uMake — including Enhance, Live AI Preview, the Spaces AI tools, and generations made through the Design Partner — all draw from one monthly pool of credits that comes with your plan.
2. Your plan sets the pool size — the Pro plan includes a larger monthly credit pool than Basic — and heavier operations use more of it: an Enhance costs a small fixed number of credits, while Live AI Preview charges a block of credits that covers a run of delivered preview frames.
3. Live AI Preview only charges a block when a frame is actually delivered, so switching the preview on costs nothing by itself — and a paid block keeps working if you toggle the preview off and back on soon after: a block covers a set number of delivered frames within a short window (about fifteen minutes), and while credits remain the next delivered frame simply starts (and charges) the next block.
4. During a free trial the credit pool is reduced to about a tenth of the plan's full monthly amount, so a trial is a taste of the AI tools rather than a full month of generations.
5. To see what you have left, open Settings from the home screen: on iPad, choose the Usage section in the settings sidebar; on iPhone, the AI Usage row sits at the top of the Subscription section. Either shows the percentage of your monthly credits already used.
6. To see your plan, where it is billed and when it renews or ends, open Settings from the home screen: on iPad, choose the Subscription section in the settings sidebar; on iPhone, tap Manage Subscription in the Subscription section. Cancel Subscription is there too, for a plan billed through the App Store.

### Sign-in & your account

Sign in once and your designs and subscription follow you to every device. (https://www.umake.com/learn/sign-in-account)

**Touch**

1. Open Settings from the home screen, choose the Account section, and tap Sign In.
2. You can sign in with your Apple or Google account, or with an email address and password.
3. Signing in attaches your subscription to your account, so your plan — and the monthly AI credits that come with it — is recognized on any device where you sign in with the same account.
4. Your designs sync through your account, so work saved on one device is there when you sign in on another.

### Choose the target and keep originals

Control what gets cut and which input shapes remain. (https://www.umake.com/learn/boolean-target)

**Touch**

1. In Combine, choose the body to cut under Target. The other bodies become tools.
2. With two bodies, Swap reverses their roles. Enable Keep Originals to retain the inputs.
3. If Close Openings is offered, it adds faces across openings. Preview and inspect before applying.

### Edit a Boolean result

Revisit saved operations or recover their input shapes. (https://www.umake.com/learn/boolean-history)

**Touch**

1. Select a saved Boolean result and reopen Combine to change its operation or target.
2. Preview the change. Enable Keep Previous Result if you also want the earlier version, then Apply.
3. Restore Operands replaces the result with editable copies of its saved inputs. Edit them, then combine again.

### Edit with an image reference

Guide an edit with a material, style or subject image. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-image-tools)

**Touch**

1. Select an image, open Image Tools, and choose Add a reference image.
2. Attach the reference and choose Material, Style or Subject. A written prompt is optional.
3. Send to generate. Edit this uses a result for your next edit; the chip’s × clears the active tool.

### Explore image variations

Try distinct directions while keeping the same subject. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-variations)

**Touch**

1. Select an image and choose Variations in Image Tools.
2. Choose how many images you want, add a direction if you like, then Send.
3. Compare the results in chat. Choose Edit this to refine one, or add your favorite to Space.

### Build a presentation set

Turn one image into complementary views on an organized board. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-presentation)

**Touch**

1. Select an image and choose Presentation set in Image Tools.
2. Send to create complementary images based on the content. Tap any result to view or edit it.
3. Add to Space inserts the set as a grouped board with individually editable images.

### Create a color palette

Make editable swatches from an idea or an image. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-palettes)

**Touch**

1. Open Generate color palettes. Use Explore for ideas, or Extract with an attached image.
2. Choose the color count and mood in Palette Tools, then Send. Tap a swatch to edit or copy its value.
3. Keep this color locks a favorite for future variations. Add to Space places the palette as an editable group.

### Create a texture set

Generate separate, coordinated surfaces you can reuse. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-textures)

**Touch**

1. Open Create custom textures and describe a project or attach an image.
2. In Texture Tools, choose Material set for complementary surfaces or Variations for treatments of one material, then Send.
3. Inspect each texture with Preview repeat. Keep favorites, replace others, and add the set to Space. These are images, not PBR maps.

### Reuse saved palettes and textures

Keep useful sets close at hand without generating again. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-saved-sets)

**Touch**

1. Choose Save set from a palette or texture result’s menu.
2. Open Saved sets in Palette Tools or Texture Tools. Tap a saved set to add it to Space.
3. Use its ⋯ menu to Open in chat, Export files or Try on image after selecting a target image.

### Apply a style

Restyle images with a preset or with a style you saved. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-apply-style)

**Touch**

1. Select up to three items, then choose Apply Style under Photo in AI Tools. With one item selected, it is also in the selection menu. Each item is styled on its own.
2. Tap the style name to choose a style. My Styles, the ones you saved, come first, then the presets. Some presets add a Style Influence slider.
3. To style an arrangement as one image, draw a region instead. An uploaded photo works too. Either counts as one picture.
4. Send. Every picture costs the same, whichever style you choose; a preset gives two versions of it, a saved style one. Add the results you like to the Space.
5. Styles work in Image Tools too: choose a tool, tap Style beside it and pick a style. Edit image, Generate Image, Draw a sketch, Presentation Set and Variations then make their images in that look, at their usual price.

### Save your own style

Keep a visual direction to reuse on different subjects. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-saved-styles)

**Touch**

1. Select up to six visual items, then choose Save as Style under Photo in AI Tools and Send. With one item selected, it is also in the selection menu.
2. The style appears in My Styles, first in Apply Style’s style list. Its + Save as Style card saves another from what you select.
3. Tap ••• on a style’s card in My Styles to see its details, rename it or delete it.

### Compose a scene

Bring separate items together in one new image. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-compose)

**Touch**

1. Select two to six visual items, then choose Compose a Scene under Photo in AI Tools.
2. Check the source previews; × removes an item from the request. Add an optional direction, then Send.
3. Watch progress in chat. The completed scene appears beside its sources in Space, leaving them unchanged.

### Create a view study

Collect distinct moments from footage you already have. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-view-study)

**Touch**

1. Select a video or a Scene Studio scene with a completed clip, then choose Create View Study.
2. Tap Find Views to extract up to three distinct moments. Similar footage may yield fewer views; no AI images are generated.
3. Add to Space places the frames together as an editable board beside the source.

### Scene Studio

Edit objects, change the atmosphere, and turn an image into a story. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-scene-studio-basics)

**Touch**

1. Open Scene Studio from AI Tools. Choose an image from your Space, or describe a new scene.
2. Tap an object in the picture to move, rotate, resize, recolor, change its material, or remove it.
3. Describe the change in the prompt box. Color, Material, and Animate offer suggestions you can edit before sending.
4. Use Lighting to change the time, season, or weather. Use Camera to explore another viewpoint.
5. Each change creates a short clip. Tap timeline frames to revisit a step, or drag across the timeline to scrub the story.
6. Use Add to Space (or ⋯ in a compact window) to insert a still, clip, or the whole story as a video. Close Scene Studio to see it on the canvas.
7. When you're signed in, each frame's picture and clip are saved to your uMake account and download on your other devices. Frames made earlier are saved the next time you open their Space on Wi-Fi, and Low Data Mode pauses saving. Without an account they stay on the device that made them.

### Explore angles in Scene Studio

Reimagine an image and build a sequence of changes. (https://www.umake.com/learn/space-scene-studio)

**Touch**

1. Select an image and open Scene Studio from its contextual menu.
2. Use Camera Presets or camera mode to request a new angle. AI reimagines the image; unseen details may change.
3. Review the timeline and use Add to Space to insert the still or clip you want.

### Stop a generation
